Gina believes that the future of healthcare belongs right where most patients live: in the community. A nurse by training and an executive by experience, Gina has dedicated her career to leading, transforming, and consulting with community-based healthcare organizations.

Today, she channels her wealth of industry knowledge into Mazza Consulting and Coaching, where she partners with healthcare organizations to develop dynamic leaders, build cohesive teams, and drive operational excellence. A sought-after national speaker and trainer, Gina is widely recognized for her content expertise in leadership, teamwork, operational consulting, and the importance of soft skills and emotional intelligence.

Gina’s commitment to shaping the next generation of healthcare leaders extends to the classroom. She serves as a Professor of Healthcare Management at a Catholic liberal arts college in Western Massachusetts, teaching leadership and teamwork, business strategy in this new world of work, and healthcare management courses to undergraduate business and MBA/MSN students.

Previously, Gina honed her leadership skills in executive roles within Home Health and Hospice organizations before becoming a partner at Fazzi Associates Inc., a prominent national research and healthcare consulting firm. Her leadership is deeply personal; she actively serves as the volunteer President and CEO of Harmony House Inc., a non-profit community home dedicated to transforming compassionate, dignified end-of-life care in Western Massachusetts.

Gina holds specialized certifications in executive coaching and emotional intelligence. She is a proud member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), Sigma Theta Tau (Honor Society of Nursing), and Sigma Beta Delta (International Honor Society for Business, Management, and Administration).

Catherine Spangler RN, BSN, CHS-C

Hospice Clinical & Operational Strategy

Catherine Spangler is a hospice executive, consultant, and nurse leader with more than 25 years of experience in hospice, palliative care, and post-acute healthcare.

Her background spans bedside care, hospice ownership, multi-site operations, national consulting, regulatory compliance, clinical education, growth strategy, and organizational performance. She has led hospice organizations through operational and regulatory challenges, conducted compliance and due diligence reviews, supported service line growth, and helped translate complex requirements into practical strategies for leaders and clinicians.

Catherine previously founded and operated a successful hospice organization and later served in national consulting and executive leadership roles with Fazzi Associates/WellSky, Three Oaks Hospice, and other healthcare organizations. She currently serves as Senior Vice President of Clinical Services and Sales for Hospi Corporation, where she works with hospice and palliative care organizations nationally on clinical innovation, education, implementation, and practice change.

She also brings strong experience in EHR optimization, data analytics, and using operational and clinical data to identify trends, improve performance, and guide decision-making. Her areas of expertise include hospice clinical and operational strategy, regulatory compliance, quality and HOPE implementation, organizational assessments, growth, reimbursement, and clinical innovation.

Catherine holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and is a Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse and Certified HOPE Specialist–Clinical.
